How can you help?

Support families to improve their parenting and life skills, prepare for future challenges, develop children’s early learning through play, reading, games and fun activities.

  • As a volunteer, you will support families to be more involved in the community, to deal with day-to-day life.
  • Receive regular support and supervision, training opportunities and volunteer events.

Training to be a Home-Start Shepway volunteer

Home-Start Shepway offers a unique training package. An initial free preparation course will introduce you to Home-Start and our services, this is online in the comfort of your own home.

We also offer additional modules to enhance your training. These include Domestic Abuse, and Group Worker training.

We also offer ongoing in-house and external training, and local expertise to guide and support the learning experience. A Study Group is available for those who want to develop their skills and knowledge. We work with Skills Network and have a selection of training courses to suit individual learning needs.
